Blind Beginnings is Moving!

We’re excited to share that Blind Beginnings is moving to a new, bigger space in January 2025!

As we prepare to open our new home, we need your support to equip it with the tools, technology, and furnishings that make it a welcoming place for children and youth who are blind or partially sighted.

Giving Tuesday will be the kickoff for our Year End Campaign. Throughout the month of December our goal will be to raise $25,000 in order to help set up our new home!

Take a Tour of our new home

Shawn Marsolais, our Founder and Director of Programs and Community Engagement, takes you on a tour of our new space and outlines just what this means for the future of Blind Beginnings.

What this means for Blind Beginnings

For the first time in the organization’s history, Blind Beginnings will have its own space. For over 10 years, we’ve worked out of a shared space that simply wasn’t big enough for our ambitions. It was challenging to grow our team or host the kinds of programs we envisioned. This new space is not just an office—it’s a home, a place where the Blind Beginnings community can come together and thrive.

Our new home is located at 2411 East Pender Street in Vancouver. This larger space will mean more office space and work areas for our expanding staff, a dedicated Early Intervention Playroom, a multimedia and resource room which will allow us to run hybrid programs, and a large multi-purpose room that will be able to be used for various programs or special events.

we need your help

Part of the challenge of moving from shared office space into our own dedicated space is going to be equipping it with the equipment and resources of our own that will serve us in the years to come as we grow into our new home. Every dollar raised will go towards helping equip the new space with essential tools, adaptive equipment, and resources in order to turn in into a welcoming and inclusive space for children, youth, and families.
