STEP Program (Safe Travel Education for Pre-schoolers)
After a huge success last summer, we are very excited to once again be offering this multi-day orientation and mobility themed series of activities aimed at pre-school aged participants and their parents.
The STEP Program will run Monday July 22 to Thursday July 25 from 10 am - 2:30 pm each day and will involve a series of skill building activities, from sensory skill and concept building to movement skills.
Registration priority will be given to 3-5 year olds who are walking with or without a device.
Daily Program Schedule
10:00 am–12:00 pm
Check in and rotate thru the morning activity stations:
Sensory Skills - sight, sound, touch, echolocation, smell
Concepts- exploring and learning about the environment
Movement Skills -Yoga-Body Awareness, balance & agility
Lunch
Bring your own lunch. On Wednesday a picnic lunch will be provided.
1:00 pm – 2:30 pm
Community based Orientation & Mobility instruction and consultation activities.
A parent/ adult will attend the program each day with the child.
Spots are open for a limited number of out-of-town participants with free lodging on site for child-parent. We recommend applying early since we have limited spots.
A $75 registration fee will be charged for the full program.
