Join us on June 15th for our Annual General Meeting followed by a fun filled afternoon at Bear Creek Park for a Family BBQ. Members are welcome to join us for one or both events!
The Annual General Meeting will take place first, from 10:30AM – 11:30AM. It will be in-person and via Zoom. In-person event will take place at the Blind Beginnings office (227 6th Street in New Westminster)
For those wishing to join remotely through Zoom, a link will be provided by email upon RSVP.
After our AGM, we will be headed to Bear Creek Park in Surrey, BC (140th St entrance off 88th Ave, a block east of King George Hwy.) for an afternoon of food, fun, and activities!
The BBQ will start at 12:00PM and run until 3:00PM. Families are welcome to drop in any time.
We have a variety of planned activities that include:
Learn about Guide Dogs and compare your olfactory skills by identifying different scents
“I Hear with my Little Ear” - name that sound and reference sound cues in the Park
“Touch and Feel” - identify coins and “What’s in the Bag?”
“Look, Listen and Feel”
Ring toss, bubbles and kite flying
Walking and Cycling Safety with the Surrey Police Community 1st Unit
Games with a variety of adapted sporting equipment
The Park also features walking trails, gardens, little and big kids playground equipment, a water park, running track and miniature train ride – there is something for everybody!

if you are attending the AGM, the BBQ, or both
the names of people in your family who will be attending
whether you are attending the AGM in person or virtually
any dietary restrictions for you or any member of your family
Both the AGM and the Family BBQ are family friendly events. Any member of Blind Beginnings is welcome to attend and encouraged to bring the whole family!
