Baking With Blind Beginnings

  • Blind Beginnings Zoom Room (Online) (map)

Come join us in our Blind Beginnings Zoom Room on Saturday morning, October 7 where our Youth Alumni baking master Jill will walk us through making a classic Fall dessert, a Fruit Crumble! It will be the perfect dessert to compliment Thanksgiving Dinner this year!

We want to keep this fantastic (and delicious) program running through the Fall and Winter months, but in order to do so we need your help! Participation been low this year, and our attendance numbers need to increase need to say good-bye to this fantastic program. So don’t miss out on what may be your last opportunity to join us for some Family Baking Time and development of highly valuable skills in the kitchen!

Did you know?

Apple crumble was probably invented in the 1940s as an alternative to traditional apple pie. Because of the war, it was harder to get the ingredients for pastry (flour and butter), so instead people made a little 'crumble' from fat and flour and just sprinkled it on top of the stewed fruit.

To register for this session of Baking With Blind Beginnings, email Keisha at keisha@blindbeginnings.ca by Friday September 29th in order to be sent the Zoom link and the recipe!
